New Leader Manufacturing Launches Second Round of Charitable Giving Program

In June 2019, New Leader Manufacturing unveiled a new charitable giving program, Spreading Good 380. The program donated more than $80,000 in 2019 to local initiatives in celebration of the companys 80th anniversary.

The program is specifically designed to support local communities in the region, which is defined as the following Iowa counties: Buchanan, Benton, Linn, Jones, Iowa, Johnson, Cedar, Washington, Tama, Poweshiek, and Scott.

“We were humbled and overwhelmed at the number and quality of submissions we received,” says Rocki Shepard, President and CEO of NLM. “Cedar Rapids and the surrounding area is a remarkable community; one that cares greatly about the well-being of its neighbors. We count ourselves extremely lucky to be surrounded by such committed and giving causes, and fortunate to have the ability to help support them in their initiatives.”

Due to the response NLM received for the inaugural Spreading Good 380 program, the company elected to continue the program into 2020. The program application process will be open from December 9, 2019 through January 3, 2020. All qualified organizations, registered non-profits, churches, schools, families and individuals in the region are invited to apply for a monetary donation to support their cause. Recipients will be announced each month, with the first donations being awarded in February.

“For more than 80 years, New Leader Manufacturing has been committed to giving back and improving the lives of those around us,” says Ms. Shepard. “The Spreading Good program builds on that foundation, helping to create vibrant communities where our employees work and live, and supporting causes we know will help make a difference in peoples’ lives.”
